With London organisations investing heavily in digital transformation, regulatory change and restructuring, professionals who can turn strategy into adoption are in strong demand. Exam

How many exams are in the combined programme?

There are two separate exams: the Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam. You must sit and pass both to hold both credentials. The combined programme prepares you for each in one structured route.

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam is closed book with 50 multiple-choice questions over 40 minutes. The pass mark is 50%, meaning 25 correct out of 50. It tests knowledge and comprehension of change management concepts and models.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book and scenario-based, with 5 sections each worth 16 marks (80 marks total) over 2.5 hours. The pass mark is 50%, meaning 40 out of 80 marks. It tests your ability to apply change approaches to realistic scenarios.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

The Change Management Practitioner Guide is permitted during the Practitioner exam. However, the scenario-based sections require analysis and judgement, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient guide navigation and deep method knowledge are both essential.

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can re-sit the exam if needed. Our training includes mock exams, scenario practice and exam technique guidance to help you prepare thoroughly for both levels. Re-sit policies and any fees are confirmed with a learning advisor.

    Course Content

What topics does the course cover?

The course covers five topic areas: Change and the Individual, Change and the Organisation, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management. Foundation covers them at knowledge level and Practitioner at application level.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No. Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, so beginners are welcome. To sit the Practitioner exam you first need the Foundation certification, which the combined programme delivers before you progress to Practitioner content.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive CMBoK-aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions and mock exams for both levels, plus open-book technique guidance for navigating the Change Management Practitioner Guide under exam conditions.

Which change models will I learn to apply?
