What topics are covered in the Design for Six Sigma course?

The course covers the full DMADV roadmap: DFSS versus DMAIC, the Define phase (VOC and Kano), Measure (CTQ flow-down and QFD), Analyse (concept generation, Pugh matrix and Design FMEA), Design (robust design and DFMA) and Verify (design verification, validation and transfer).

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. No prior DFSS experience is needed. The course introduces the DMADV methodology and every tool from first principles, with guided, hands-on exercises, so beginners and experienced engineers both gain practical capability.

What practical exercises are included?

You apply the tools directly: Voice of the Customer to CTQ flow-down, building a QFD House of Quality, the Pugh concept selection matrix and a Design FMEA worksheet, all on realistic product or process design scenarios.

Which DFSS methodology does the course use?

The course uses DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify), the most widely used DFSS roadmap. It also introduces alternative frameworks such as IDOV so you understand how organisations adapt DFSS to their own development process.

What materials and resources are provided?

You receive structured courseware, tool templates and worked examples for VOC, QFD, the Pugh matrix and Design FMEA, plus case studies you can reference on the job. A course completion record is provided on finishing the programme.
