Is there an exam at the end of Kaizen training?

No, there is no exam. Kaizen training is a practical, non-assessed skills course. Learning is reinforced through hands-on workshop simulation, team exercises and group discussion, so you practise applying the methodology during the programme itself.

How is learning reinforced during the course?

Learning is reinforced through practice rather than testing. You take part in Gemba observation, waste identification, root cause analysis and a Kaizen event simulation, so you leave able to plan and facilitate an improvement event on real processes.

Do I receive anything on completing the training?

Yes. On completing the one-day programme you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. It confirms your participation and the practical Kaizen skills covered, though it is not a formal external credential, as the methodology has no awarding body.

Are there any prerequisites to attend?

None. The course has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. Some familiarity with Lean ideas such as waste and flow is helpful but not required, because the training introduces every relevant concept from first principles.

Will I be able to run a Kaizen event after the course?

Yes. By the end of the day you can select a target, set objectives, assemble a team, and facilitate a Kaizen event through its phases, then sustain the gains with standard work and follow-up audits. That is the core outcome of the training.

Course Content

What topics does the Kaizen training cover?

The programme covers six modules: the Kaizen philosophy, the PDCA cycle and thinking tools, planning a Kaizen event, running a Kaizen event, Kaizen tools in practice (5S, standard work, spaghetti diagram), and sustaining improvements to build a continuous improvement culture.

What Kaizen tools will I learn to use?

You will learn the Gemba walk, the eight wastes (DOWNTIME), Muda, Mura and Muri, 5 Whys and Fishbone analysis, current-state and spaghetti diagrams, 5S, standard work, time observation, and the Kaizen newspaper for tracking follow-up actions.

How long is the Kaizen training?

The course is delivered as a one-day, eight-hour programme covering all six modules with hands-on workshop simulation throughout. A half-day format across two sessions is also available, keeping the same eight hours of learning.

Is Kaizen only for manufacturing?

No. While Kaizen originated in manufacturing, the principles apply anywhere teams want continuous improvement, including healthcare, logistics, financial services, food production and IT. Any process with waste, delays or variation can benefit from a structured Kaizen event.

What complementary skills work well with Kaizen?

Kaizen pairs well with value stream mapping, which identifies where events should run, the 7 QC tools used for analysis, poka yoke mistake-proofing that sustains gains, and Lean Six Sigma. Many learners take these alongside or after Kaizen training.
