Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Change Management Foundation and Practitioner is a two-level qualification covering the knowledge, models and practice needed to manage the people side of organisational change. Foundation validates your understanding of change concepts, while Practitioner proves you can apply them to real change scenarios.

    General

What is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification?

Change Management Foundation and Practitioner is a two-level qualification covering the knowledge, models and practice needed to manage the people side of organisational change. Foundation validates your understanding of change concepts, while Practitioner proves you can apply them to real change scenarios.

Who should take this change management course?

It suits project managers, HR and OD professionals, consultants, and leaders who guide organisations through change. There are no prerequisites for the Foundation level, so it is open to anyone building change capability, whatever their career stage.

Is change management certification worth it in Ireland?

Yes. Change management is one of Ireland's most in-demand capabilities, with change manager roles averaging around 72,000 euro and rising past 108,000 euro at senior level. The credential is recognised across technology, financial services and pharmaceuticals, where transformation is constant.

What standard is the certification based on?

The course is aligned to the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) maintained by the Change Management Institute, the current Change Management Practitioner Guide, and the Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi. It draws on models including ADKAR, Kotter, Lewin and Bridges.

How is Change Management different from project management certifications?

Change management covers the people and culture side of change, such as stakeholder engagement, communication, resistance management and embedding change. It complements project frameworks like PRINCE2 and gives you a full toolkit for delivering both the technical and human dimensions of change.

    Pricing

What is included in the change management course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training for both levels, courseware aligned to the current syllabi, case studies, practice questions and mock exams, plus learner support. Request a quote to see the inclusions for your chosen format.

How much does the training cost in Ireland?

Pricing varies by format and schedule, so training in Ireland is quoted per enrolment and is available on request. Talk to a learning advisor for current pricing on live virtual, classroom and corporate options.

Are the exam fees included in the price?

Exam vouchers are often bundled with training provider packages, but inclusion varies by package and region. Confirm whether the Foundation and Practitioner exam fees are included when you request your quote.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments. Contact us for a tailored group quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass an exam on the first attempt?

Our training includes focused exam preparation, mock exams and first-attempt guidance to help you succeed. If you need to re-sit, we will guide you through the process; re-sit policies and fees vary, so confirm the current terms with our team.

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions in a single-answer, closed-book format, with 40 minutes allotted. The pass mark is 50 percent, which is 25 out of 50 correct. There are no prerequisites to sit it.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book and scenario based, with 5 sections each worth 16 marks, for 80 marks in total, over 2.5 hours. The pass mark is 50 percent, which is 40 out of 80 marks. The Change Management Practitioner Guide is permitted.

How many exams are in the combined programme?

There are two separate exams. You sit the Foundation exam first, then the Practitioner exam, and must pass both to hold both credentials. The combined programme prepares you for each in sequence.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the Practitioner exam. However, the scenario-based sections require analysis and judgement, so you cannot simply look up answers; efficient guide navigation and solid method knowledge are both essential.

    Course Content

Can a complete beginner take this course?

Yes. The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is designed to build change management knowledge from the ground up. The training and practice materials support you through both levels, whatever your starting point.

    How long is the training?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme is delivered as around 40 hours of instructor-led training. The number of days varies with the schedule, for example intensive full-day or extended part-day formats.

    What learning materials are provided?
