How to Get PMI-CP Certified in RigaStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMI-CP (PMI Construction Professional) certification path in Riga is a structured single-exam track. You must complete the four-module training, document 3 years of construction or built-environment project experience earned within the past 10 years, then pass the 120-question, 230-minute PMI-CP exam delivered by PMI through Pearson VUE. From initial training to earning the PMI-CP designation typically takes 1-3 months.

Step 1: Confirm You Meet the PMI-CP Eligibility Requirements

Confirm you can document 3 years of on-the-job experience in construction projects or built-environment projects (infrastructure, real estate, utilities, etc.). The experience must have been earned within the past 10 years. There is no foundational PMI credential prerequisite for PMI-CP.

Step 2: Enroll in a Learning Program

Choose a learning format that aligns with your schedule and goals, such as a PMI-CP bootcamp, live virtual training, self-paced learning, or corporate group training. Enrollment provides access to PMI-aligned learning resources, study materials, and expert guidance.

Step 3: Submit Your PMI-CP Application via the PMI Candidate Portal

Create or sign in to your PMI account at pmi.org, complete the PMI-CP application, and document your training (32 contact hours) plus 3 years of construction project experience earned within the past 10 years. PMI membership (~$139/year) is optional but reduces the exam fee.

Step 4: Receive Application Approval and Register for the Exam

PMI reviews your application within ~5 business days. On approval, you receive eligibility to register for the PMI-CP exam through Pearson VUE. Your eligibility window opens for 1 year, during which you can attempt the exam up to 3 times.

    Step 5: Sit the 120-Question, 230-Minute PMI-CP Exam

Book a Pearson VUE slot , online proctored from home or office in Latvia or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The exam includes 120 multiple-choice and scenario questions across the four PMI-CP domains, delivered over 230 minutes. You receive your preliminary result at the end of the session.

Step 6: Earn the PMI-CP Designation and Plan CCR Renewal

After passing the exam, PMI issues your PMI-CP digital badge and certificate. The designation is valid for three years and is renewable via PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) programme by earning PDUs in construction and built-environment-relevant content across the 3-year cycle.

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist credential for construction project delivery, validating your ability to manage contracts, stakeholders, scope and governance. It is designed for construction project managers, site managers moving into project roles, and owner's representatives.

    General

What is the PMI-CP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist credential for construction project delivery, validating your ability to manage contracts, stakeholders, scope and governance. It is designed for construction project managers, site managers moving into project roles, and owner's representatives.

Why choose Invensis Learning for PMI-CP training in Riga?

Invensis Learning is a PMI Authorized Training Partner offering PMI-aligned courseware, experienced trainers, flexible live online and classroom formats, and guidance on the four PMI-CP modules and application, helping you move from learning to certification with a clear path.

Is the PMI-CP recognised in Latvia?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-CP carries global recognition through PMI's network in over 200 countries. It is valued by Latvian contractors, developers and public bodies delivering transport, energy and building projects, including Rail Baltica and EU-funded works.

How is the PMI-CP different from the PMP?

The PMP is a broad project management credential across all industries, while the PMI-CP focuses on construction, with Contracts Management as its largest domain at 50%. The two are complementary, and many construction professionals hold both. A PMP is not required to pursue the PMI-CP.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

The PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area. The 56 PDUs from the four prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Riga?

Training fees vary by format and are available on request in EUR. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote or speak with a learning advisor for current pricing.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, guidance on the four prerequisite modules and the application, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-CP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, and PMI members pay less than non-members. Verify current exam and membership fees on pmi.org before applying.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction teams, project offices and leadership groups. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide. It is delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). Questions use single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice formats.

What are the four PMI-CP exam domains and weights?

Per the current ECO there are four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contract administration is the exam's core focus.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement), so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

What happens if I do not pass the exam first time?

You are permitted up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Our practice questions, mock exams and trainer guidance are designed to prepare you thoroughly before you sit the exam.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers the four exam domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance, spanning contract types, claims, change orders, engagement planning, scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality and governance.

Do I need to complete the four PMI-CP modules?

Yes. PMI requires completion of all four self-paced modules before applying: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment and awards 14 PDUs, 56 PDUs in total.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-CP?

Besides the four modules, you meet one set: a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months, each within the past 10 years, plus 35 contact hours of PM education.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?

The instructor-led programme delivers 32 contact hours, close to but below the 35 contact hours PMI requires. Please check with us whether supplementary self-study or pre-reading is credited toward the 35-hour requirement for your application.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest ECO?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide, so you study the four domains and their weightings exactly as tested.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

Do I need prior construction experience to attend the training?

Anyone can attend the training to build knowledge and earn contact hours. To sit the PMI-CP exam, however, PMI requires construction project management experience and completion of the four modules, as set out in the eligibility criteria.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans include the ability to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.
