    Exam

    How many exams are in the combined program?

    There are two separate exams: the Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam. You must sit and pass both to hold both credentials. The training prepares you for each in turn.

    What is the format of each exam?

    The Foundation exam has 40 closed-book, single-answer multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. The Practitioner exam has 40 closed-book, scenario-based multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, testing how you apply BA techniques to realistic project situations.

    What is the passing score?

    Both exams require 65% to pass, which is 26 correct answers out of 40. The passing standard is the same for the Foundation and the Practitioner exam.

    What happens if I do not pass the first time?

    You can re-sit an EXIN exam if needed. Our training includes mock exams and practice questions for both levels to prepare you thoroughly. Confirm the current re-sit policy and voucher terms with our team before you book.

    Where can I take the exams?

    Both exams are available online through EXIN's online proctored system, or at an EXIN accredited testing location. They are typically arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the combined program.

    Course Content

    What topics does the training cover?

    It covers business analysis concepts and competencies, strategy analysis, investigation techniques, stakeholder management, business process and requirements modeling, requirements engineering, solution definition and business case development, then applies them in Practitioner-level scenarios.

    Do I need prior experience or prerequisites?

    The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The Foundation certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level, and the combined program takes you through both in sequence.

    Which standard is the course based on?

    Both levels are aligned to the EXIN BCS examination specifications and the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge, developed in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. The courseware follows the current official specifications.

    Are practice questions and mock exams included?

    Yes. The program includes practice questions and mock exams for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, including scenario-based questions that mirror the Practitioner exam, to help you identify weak areas and build readiness.

    Will I receive study materials and a certificate?

    Yes. You receive EXIN and BCS aligned courseware and study resources. On passing each exam, EXIN issues an official digital certificate and badge for the Foundation and Practitioner credentials respectively.
