What Is the Green Belt Credential and Why It MattersYour Route to Process Excellence

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) certification training in Rwanda prepares you to lead and support data-driven improvement projects using the DMAIC method of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. It is the intermediate credential in the Lean Six Sigma family, sitting above Yellow Belt and below Black Belt, and it proves you can apply core statistical and Lean tools to real processes. The certification is awarded by the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC), an independent body acquired by PeopleCert, and is recognised by employers worldwide. The programme suits quality analysts, operations and manufacturing staff, and service-sector professionals who want a rigorous, vendor-neutral credential. With the Made in Rwanda agenda, growing industrial parks and a manufacturing sector that contributes around a fifth of GDP, employers across Kigali and beyond increasingly value people who can reduce waste, cut defects and improve quality. Start your Green Belt journey with Invensis Learning and turn process knowledge into a globally recognised credential.

Invensis Learning is an accredited IASSC (Peoplecert) training partner in Rwanda (2778), approved to deliver official LSSGB training using IASSC-aligned courseware.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is an intermediate, globally recognised credential that validates your ability to lead and support data-driven improvement projects using the DMAIC method. It is awarded by IASSC and sits above Yellow Belt and below Black Belt in the Lean Six Sigma family.

    General

What is the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification?

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is an intermediate, globally recognised credential that validates your ability to lead and support data-driven improvement projects using the DMAIC method. It is awarded by IASSC and sits above Yellow Belt and below Black Belt in the Lean Six Sigma family.

Is the Green Belt certification worth it in Rwanda?

Yes. As the Made in Rwanda agenda and new industrial parks raise quality expectations, employers across manufacturing, banking, healthcare and logistics value professionals who can cut waste and defects. Quality and operations roles in Rwanda commonly pay from RWF 7M to 12M a year, with senior bands higher.

Who should take Green Belt training?

It suits quality analysts, operations and production staff, engineers, and service-sector professionals who want to solve problems with data. It is also ideal for anyone advancing from a Yellow Belt awareness level or planning to progress towards Black Belt.

Do I need a Yellow Belt before the Green Belt?

No. There are no prerequisites for the Green Belt. A Yellow Belt or hands-on experience helps, but neither is required to train or to sit the exam, so you can start at Green Belt level directly.

How long is the Green Belt certification valid?

The certification is valid for three years from the date you earn it. To keep current status, you pass a shorter recertification exam before the three years elapse, as defined by IASSC.

    Pricing

What is included in the Green Belt course fee?

Your fee typically includes instructor-led training, courseware aligned to the Green Belt Body of Knowledge, DMAIC exercises and case studies, exam-style practice questions, and learner support before and after the sessions. Request a quote for the full inclusions.

How much does Green Belt training cost in Rwanda?

Training fees vary by format and schedule, so pricing is available on request and quoted to suit individuals or teams. Talk to a learning advisor for a tailored quote in your preferred delivery mode.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. The IASSC exam voucher is purchased separately and billed in USD under regional pricing, so it is not part of the training fee. We can guide you on how and where to buy the voucher.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for quality, operations and production teams across Rwanda. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the Green Belt exam?

The exam is closed book with 100 questions, using multiple-choice and true or false formats. You have three hours to complete it, with questions spread across the five DMAIC phases of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control.

What is the passing score for the exam?

You need a minimum of 385 points out of 550 to pass. The questions are distributed roughly evenly across the five DMAIC phases, so balanced mastery of the whole Body of Knowledge is the best approach.

Are there any prerequisites to sit the exam?

No. There are no education, experience or training prerequisites to sit the Green Belt exam. Training and real-world practice are recommended but not mandatory.

Where and how do I take the exam?

You can take it online with web-based proctoring available around the clock, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Both options deliver the same closed-book exam, so you choose what is convenient.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You can retake the exam by purchasing another voucher. Our trainers help you review weak areas with extra practice questions and guidance, so you go into the resit better prepared.

    Course Content

What topics does the Green Belt training cover?

The training covers all five DMAIC phases: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. You learn project scoping, process mapping, measurement system analysis, statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, control charts and Lean tools.

    Will I learn statistical methods?

Yes. The course builds core statistical confidence, including descriptive statistics, process capability, hypothesis testing with normal and non-normal data, and regression analysis, all explained in a practical, applied way.

Does the course cover Lean tools?

Yes. Lean is integrated throughout the DMAIC framework. You cover the seven wastes, 5S, value stream mapping, Kanban and Poka-Yoke mistake-proofing, so you can standardise work and reduce errors on the floor.

    How long is the training?

The programme runs for 32 hours of training, delivered over a schedule that suits you, such as full-day or extended part-day formats. This gives you time to absorb the tools and apply them to practice scenarios.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This is separate from the IASSC certification, which you earn by passing the official Green Belt exam.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the Green Belt course in Rwanda?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches to get started.

When can I start and how soon are batches available?

New batches run regularly in both live virtual and classroom formats. Check the upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor to find the next start date that suits you.

Can I reschedule or transfer my batch?
