    What is the format of the Black Belt exam?

    The exam is a closed-book paper of 150 multiple-choice questions, with up to 15 additional unscored questions on some forms. A reference document with the required formulas and tables is provided. It is delivered online proctored or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    How long is the exam and what is the passing score?

    You have four hours (240 minutes) to complete the exam, with extra time available for non-native speakers or candidates with a disability. The passing score is 580 out of 750 points. Questions span all five DMAIC phases.

    What is the exam application process?

    After training, purchase your exam voucher from the official IASSC orders site and choose your delivery mode, either online on-demand or a Pearson VUE test centre. You can take an optional non-proctored evaluation exam to check readiness, then schedule and sit the proctored exam.
