What Is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Certification?A Complete Route to Certified Project Delivery

The PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner (PRINCE2-F&P) certification is a globally recognized project management credential that proves you can both understand and apply PRINCE2, the structured, process-based method for managing projects in controlled environments. Aligned to the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) from AXELOS and PeopleCert, this PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification training in Denver covers both levels in a single pathway. You learn the seven principles, the seven practices and the seven processes, plus the People capability introduced in the 7th edition, then prepare for two separate PeopleCert exams: a closed-book Foundation exam and an open-book, scenario-based Practitioner exam. Foundation confirms your knowledge of the method, while Practitioner shows you can tailor it to real project scenarios. Denver's aerospace, government, healthcare and technology employers run complex, governance-heavy programs where structured delivery matters, making PRINCE2 skills a strong complement to local project roles. Whether you are moving into project management or formalizing years of delivery experience, you can start your PRINCE2 journey with Invensis Learning and work toward both credentials with a clear, supported plan.

Invensis Learning is a Peoplecert Accredited Training Organization (2778) in Denver, approved to deliver official PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Certification training using accredited courseware and standards.

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification?

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner is a two-level project management credential from AXELOS and PeopleCert, based on the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023). Foundation proves you understand the method, while Practitioner proves you can tailor and apply it to real projects. Together they cover PRINCE2 end to end.

Is PRINCE2 certification worth it for professionals in Denver?

Yes. PRINCE2 is a globally recognized method valued by Denver's aerospace, defense, government, healthcare and technology employers that run governance-heavy programs. Certified professionals qualify for project coordinator, project manager and PMO roles, where Denver project managers average around $106K and PMO directors reach about $188K.

Who should take this PRINCE2 course?

The course suits aspiring project managers, current project team members and experienced delivery professionals who want a recognized credential. Foundation has no prerequisites, so beginners are welcome, while Practitioner is ideal for those who will manage or tailor projects.

What is new in PRINCE2 7 compared with PRINCE2 6?

PRINCE2 7 (2023) introduces the People capability as a core element, renames Themes to Practices, and integrates agile, sustainability and commercial management. The method now covers seven principles, seven practices and seven processes, plus the People element.

How long are the PRINCE2 certifications valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner are valid for three years. Foundation is renewed by earning 60 CPD points per cycle, while Practitioner is renewed by retaking the exam, completing CPD via a PeopleCert MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher PRINCE2 qualification.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 training cost in Denver?

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner training in Denver is available on request, as pricing varies by format, schedule and whether exams are bundled. Instructor-led and self-paced options are offered. Talk to a learning advisor for a current quote, or ask about group pricing.

    Exam

How is the PRINCE2 Foundation exam structured?

The Foundation exam is closed book, with 60 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, and you need 60% (36 of 60) to pass. It tests knowledge and comprehension of PRINCE2 principles, practices and processes, and has no prerequisites.

How is the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam structured?

The Practitioner exam is open book, using the PRINCE2 7 Managing Successful Projects manual. It has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks over 150 minutes, and you need 60% (42 of 70) to pass. It tests applying and tailoring PRINCE2 to scenarios.

What are the prerequisites for the Practitioner exam?

You need PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A/B/C/D. Foundation itself has no prerequisites, so most learners take both levels in one combined program.

Where can I take the PRINCE2 exams?

Both exams are delivered by PeopleCert online through the OnVUE proctored system, available 24/7, or at an authorized test center. Exams are usually arranged as part of your accredited training package.

What happens if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can resit the exam. PeopleCert sets the resit policy and fees, and selected training packages include retake support such as a Flexi Pass to attend the training again. Ask your advisor about the retake options on your plan.

How many exams are in the combined program?

There are two separate PeopleCert exams: the Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam. You must pass both to hold both credentials. In the combined program, Foundation is typically taken first, followed by Practitioner.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PRINCE2 course?

You will learn the seven PRINCE2 principles, seven practices and seven processes, plus the People capability and tailoring. The program covers running a project from Starting Up through Closing a Project, and how to adapt PRINCE2 to different project sizes and delivery approaches.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No. PRINCE2 Foundation has no prerequisites and welcomes beginners, career changers and project team members. Prior project exposure helps at Practitioner level, but the training builds you up step by step for both exams.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive accredited PRINCE2 7 courseware, practice questions, mock exams, chapter quizzes, downloadable templates, and access to the Managing Successful Projects reference used in the open-book Practitioner exam.
