What Is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Certification? One Pathway, Two Globally Recognised Credentials

The PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Certification Course is a combined project management qualification that certifies you in the world's most widely used structured method, PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments). Delivered as PRINCE2 certification training in Zambia, it takes you through both levels in one journey, from foundational method knowledge to applying and tailoring PRINCE2 in real project scenarios. Governed by AXELOS and awarded by PeopleCert, the qualification is based on the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), which introduces the People capability, renames Themes to Practices, and integrates agile and sustainability. For professionals working on Zambia's mining, construction, telecoms, banking and public-sector projects, the credential proves you can govern scope, risk, quality and cost to a globally recognised standard. Whether you are new to project management or formalising years of delivery experience, this combined pathway prepares you for both PeopleCert exams and positions you to lead. Start your PRINCE2 journey with Invensis Learning.

Invensis Learning is a Peoplecert Accredited Training Organization (2778) in Zambia, approved to deliver official PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Certification training using accredited courseware and standards.

    General

Is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification worth it in Zambia?

Yes. PRINCE2 is a globally recognised project management method valued by Zambian employers in mining, construction, telecoms, banking and the public sector. It proves you can govern projects to a recognised standard and opens roles from project coordinator to programme manager, where Lusaka project managers average around K165,500 a year.

What is PRINCE2 and which edition does the course cover?

PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a structured project management method covering seven principles, the People capability, seven practices and seven processes. This course covers the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), governed by AXELOS and awarded by PeopleCert.

Who should take the combined PRINCE2 course?

It suits aspiring and practising project managers, project team members, and professionals moving into project roles. Foundation needs no prerequisites, so beginners can start, while experienced managers benefit from the applied Practitioner level.

How long is the PRINCE2 certification valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner are valid for three years. Foundation is renewed by earning 60 CPD points per cycle, and Practitioner can be renewed by re-sitting the exam, completing CPD via a PeopleCert MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher PRINCE2 qualification.

How is PRINCE2 different from PMP?

PRINCE2 is a structured, prescriptive method awarded by PeopleCert and strong across the UK, Europe and Commonwealth markets including Zambia.
