It is a combined credential that validates both foundational business analysis knowledge and the applied ability to use BA techniques in real project scenarios. It is developed by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

    General

What is the EXIN BCS Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a combined credential that validates both foundational business analysis knowledge and the applied ability to use BA techniques in real project scenarios. It is developed by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

Is business analysis certification worth it in Costa Rica?

Yes. Business analysts are in strong demand across Costa Rica's technology, shared service, financial and life sciences employers, with average pay around ₡23.7M a year and senior roles near ₡29M. A recognised EXIN BCS credential helps you stand out for these roles.

Who should take this business analysis course?

It suits aspiring business analysts, IT professionals and testers moving into BA, project and delivery team members, and practising analysts formalising their experience. The Foundation level needs no prior BA knowledge, so beginners can start with confidence.

    Are the certifications recognised internationally?

Yes. EXIN operates in over 165 countries and BCS is the UK's chartered professional body for IT. The combined credential is well recognised across Europe, the UK, Asia, the Middle East and by North American nearshore clients that Costa Rica's service centres support.

How long are the credentials valid?

Both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications are for lifetime. Neither expires and there is no renewal fee or continuing-education requirement once you have earned them.

    Pricing

How much does the business analysis training cost in Costa Rica?

Fees depend on the format you choose, such as live virtual, self-paced or corporate group training, and are quoted locally. The training and exam bundle is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for current pricing and to request a quote.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes examination-aligned courseware, case studies, mock exams and practice questions for both levels, learner support and a course completion certificate. Confirm whether both EXIN exam vouchers are included when you enrol.

Are the exam fees included in the training price?

Both EXIN exams are usually arranged as part of the combined training and dual exam package through an accredited training provider. Whether the vouchers are bundled or billed separately is available on request, so ask your advisor before enrolling.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for analysis, delivery and product teams. Contact us for a tailored quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you and to see upcoming batches.

    Exam

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 40 single-answer multiple-choice questions and runs for 60 minutes, closed book. You need 65 per cent, or 26 out of 40, to pass. It covers 14 topic areas at a knowledge and comprehension level.

How does the Practitioner exam differ?

The Practitioner exam is also 40 questions in 60 minutes, closed book, with the same 65 per cent pass mark. Its questions are scenario-based, presenting realistic project situations that test how you apply BA techniques across seven topic areas.

Are there prerequisites for the exams?

The Foundation certificate has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The Foundation certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level, which is why the combined programme takes you through both in sequence.

Where can I take the EXIN exams?

You can sit both exams online through EXIN's online proctored system or at an accredited testing location. They are typically arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the combined package.

What if I do not pass an exam on the first attempt?

You can re-sit an EXIN exam; the current re-sit policy and any fee are available on request. Our preparation includes mock exams and practice questions for both levels to help you feel ready before you sit, reducing the fear of failure.

    Course Content

What topics does the training cover?

The Foundation part covers all 14 topic areas, from investigation and requirements to process modelling and business cases. The Practitioner part covers seven applied topics, including strategy context, stakeholder management, solution options and building the business case.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The Foundation level assumes no prior business analysis knowledge, so beginners and career changers can start here. The programme then builds step by step into the applied Practitioner techniques, supported by trainers and practice scenarios.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive examination-aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies, mock exams and practice questions for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, plus learner support to help you apply the concepts at work.

Is the courseware aligned to the current standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the EXIN BCS Examination Specifications and the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge, which is the reference standard for both the Foundation and Practitioner exams.

How is the combined programme structured?

It is a 32-hour combined course, usually with Foundation content first and Practitioner content next. You sit two separate EXIN exams and, on passing each, earn the respective credential, giving you both qualifications from one programme.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the business analysis course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you would like guidance first.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live virtual (online) instructor-led training, self-paced e-learning, onsite classroom training, and customised corporate group training, so you can pick the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

    How soon can I start?

New batches run regularly across live virtual and other formats. See upcoming schedules on our website or ask an advisor about the next available cohort and how quickly you can begin your preparation.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans allow you to attend the training again. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations follow our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment before you book.
