    Your Philippine Career Transformation

From Risk Practitioner to Certified Risk Leader

    The PMI-RMP Difference

The Philippines is scaling infrastructure, digital and banking programmes, and employers increasingly separate certified risk professionals from the rest. Here is which side of that line you want to be on.

Sources: Jobstreet, Glassdoor, PayScale, ERI (Philippines) 2026.

How to Get PMI-RMP Certified in PhilippinesStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMI-RMP certification path in Philippines is a pure exam track: once your PMI application is approved, you proceed directly to the 115-question, 150-minute exam administered through Pearson VUE , no peer-panel review is required. From initial training to exam day typically takes 6-10 weeks, including application processing.

    Step 1: Confirm PMI-RMP Eligibility

Verify you meet one of the three eligibility sets. Set A: high school or secondary school diploma (or global equivalent) + 36 months / 3 years of project risk management experience within the last 5 years + 40 hours of project risk management education. Set B: bachelor's degree or higher (or global equivalent) + 24 months / 2 years of project risk management experience within the last 5 years + 30 hours of project risk management education. Set C: bachelor's degree or higher from a GAC-accredited program + 12 months / 1 year of project risk management experience within the past 5 years + 30 hours of project risk management education. Education hours must be in project risk management topics specifically.

Step 2: Enroll in a Learning Program

Choose a learning format that aligns with your schedule and goals, such as a PMI-RMP bootcamp, live virtual sessions, self-paced learning, or corporate group training. Enrollment provides access to PMI-aligned courseware, practice assessments, and expert-led guidance.

Step 3: Register on the PMI Candidate Portal

Create or sign in to your PMI account at pmi.org. PMI membership (~$139/year) is optional but reduces the PMI-RMP exam fee from ~$670 to ~$520 and gives access to the PMI Risk Management Practice Guide and the PMI Standard for Risk Management.

Step 4: Submit the PMI-RMP Application to PMI

Submit your application via the PMI candidate portal: document your project risk management experience, list your 30 or 40 contact hours, and pay the application/exam fee (~$520 PMI member or ~$670 non-member). PMI typically processes applications within 5-10 business days. Unlike PfMP, no peer-panel review is required.

Step 5: Sit the 115-Question PMI-RMP Exam via Pearson VUE

Once approved, you receive a one-year exam eligibility window. Book your PMI-RMP exam through Pearson VUE , online proctored from your home or office in Philippines, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The exam is 115 multiple-choice and scenario questions over 150 minutes, covering all five risk management domains.

Step 6: Earn the PMI-RMP Credential and Plan CCR Renewal

On passing, PMI issues your PMI-RMP digital badge and certificate. The credential is valid for three years; renew via PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) programme by earning 30 PDUs in risk-relevant content across the 3-year cycle.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, assessing, responding to and monitoring project risk. It is designed for risk specialists, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who focus on risk across projects and programmes.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, assessing, responding to and monitoring project risk. It is designed for risk specialists, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants who focus on risk across projects and programmes.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it in the Philippines?

Yes. With Build Better More lifting 2026 infrastructure spending to around P1.5 trillion and a large PPP pipeline, employers across construction, banking, energy and IT-BPM need certified risk professionals. Risk manager roles in the Philippines average around P1.2 million a year, and certified risk talent stays scarce. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Is the PMI-RMP recognised in the Philippines?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-RMP is recognised by employers in the Philippines and worldwide. It is especially valued in high-risk sectors such as construction, infrastructure, banking, energy and technology, where formal project risk management is often contractually or regulatorily required.

Do I need a PMP before taking the PMI-RMP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your project risk management experience and education. Many PMI-RMP holders also hold the PMP, as the two credentials are complementary, but it is not required.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle and pay the renewal fee to PMI.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in the Philippines?

Instructor-led PMI-RMP training fees vary by format, schedule and whether you enrol individually or as a group, and are available on request in local pricing. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current pricing and upcoming batches.

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of instruction, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. Ask about corporate or group pricing for teams.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-RMP exam fee separately. For reference, PMI lists the exam at around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members, though prices vary by region. Confirm current fees on the PMI website before applying.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts for PMI-RMP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for risk, delivery and PMO teams. Contact us for a tailored quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022. It uses single-answer and multiple-answer questions delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and a time limit of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains per the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%). The training covers all five in depth.

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed numeric pass mark. The passing score is set through psychometric analysis, and results are reported as pass or fail with performance feedback per domain, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What happens if I do not pass the exam, can I retake it?

Yes. PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. A reexamination fee applies to the second and third attempts. Our prep resources and mock exams are built to help you pass with confidence.
