    How to Get Agile Scrum Master Certified in RwandaStep-by-Step Certification Process

    The path to online ASM certification in Rwanda begins with the EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation (ASF) credential, which serves as the prerequisite for Agile Scrum Master certification. Once eligibility requirements are met, candidates complete accredited training, schedule the examination, and earn a lifetime-valid Scrum credential.

    Step 1: Confirm ASM Eligibility

    Confirm you hold the EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation (ASF) credential as a prerequisite. Working knowledge of the Scrum framework , roles, events, artifacts, values , is expected before ASM training. Prior experience on a Scrum team in any role (developer, BA, tester, coordinator) is recommended.

    Step 2: Enrol in the 2-Day ASM Training

    Choose your preferred Invensis Learning ASM cohort (2-Day Live Online Bootcamp, E-Learning, or Corporate Group Training). On enrolment you receive EXIN-aligned ASM courseware, facilitation workshops, servant-leadership materials, and 40-question scenario mock-exam material.

    Step 3: Register on the EXIN Candidate Portal

    Create or sign in to your EXIN account at exin.com. EXIN registration is free and gives you access to candidate resources, exam scheduling, and digital badge delivery on passing.

    Step 4: Schedule the ASM Exam

    Pay the EXIN ASM exam fee (~$240) and book your exam through the EXIN candidate portal , EXIN online proctored from your home or office in Rwanda, or at an approved EXIN test center.

    Step 5: Sit the 40-Question ASM Exam

    Sit the 40-question, 90-minute exam. Passing requires 65% (26 out of 40 correct). The exam is closed book and covers Scrum Master role, servant leadership, team facilitation, coaching, and Scrum adoption challenges.

    Step 6: Earn the ASM Credential

    On passing, EXIN issues your ASM digital badge and certificate through the EXIN candidate portal. The credential is valid for life with no renewal or PDU requirements. You can progress to advanced Scrum or agile coaching credentials at your own pace.

    What is the format of the EXIN ASM exam?

    The EXIN Agile Scrum Master exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination with 40 questions to be completed in 90 minutes. It is delivered through EXIN online proctoring or at an accredited testing location.

    How many questions are on the exam and what is the pass mark?

    The exam has 40 multiple-choice questions and the passing score is 65%, which means you need 26 correct answers out of 40. The questions test application and analysis across the five EXIN topic areas, not just recall.

    How is the ASM exam delivered in Rwanda?

    You can sit the exam through EXIN online proctoring from home or office, or at an EXIN accredited testing location. The online proctored option means you do not need to travel to take the exam.

    What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

    You can re-sit the EXIN ASM exam by purchasing another exam voucher; confirm the current re-sit policy and fee with EXIN. Our trainers provide practice questions and mock exams to help you prepare thoroughly the first time.

    What syllabus is the ASM exam based on?

    The exam is based on the EXIN Agile Scrum Master examination specification, aligned to the Scrum Guide and the Agile Manifesto. It covers five topic areas: Agile Way of Thinking, Scrum Master Role, Agile Estimating Planning Monitoring and Control, Complex Projects, and Adopting Agile.

    Do I need prior experience to take this course?

    You do not need formal work experience to enrol. EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation knowledge is recommended as a starting point, and beginners are supported. The training is built to take you from agile fundamentals to Scrum Master competency.

    What topics does the ASM training cover?

    The training covers the five EXIN topic areas: Agile Way of Thinking (20%), Scrum Master Role (25%), Agile Estimating, Planning, Monitoring and Control (27.5%), Complex Projects (12.5%) and Adopting Agile (15%), plus facilitation, coaching and exam strategy.

    How long is the training and what format is it delivered in?

    The Agile Scrum Master training programme runs for 16 hours, typically delivered over two days, in a live online (instructor-led) format. Corporate groups can choose live virtual, onsite or hybrid delivery to suit team schedules.

    Are practice tests and materials included?

    Yes. The programme includes accredited courseware, practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the 40-question, closed-book EXIN exam, helping you identify weak areas and build readiness.

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current EXIN Agile Scrum Master examination specification and the Scrum Guide, so you study exactly what the exam assesses.
