    What is the format of the EXIN BCS Foundation exam?

    The Foundation exam is closed book with 40 single-answer multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. The passing score is 65 percent, or 26 out of 40 correct. There are no formal prerequisites to sit it.

    How is the Practitioner exam different from the Foundation exam?

    The Practitioner exam is also 40 questions in 60 minutes, closed book, but it uses scenario-based questions that test how you apply BA techniques in realistic project situations. Foundation tests knowledge and comprehension; Practitioner tests application and analysis.

    What is the passing score for the two exams?

    Both exams require 65 percent to pass, which is 26 correct answers out of 40. You must sit and pass both the Foundation and the Practitioner exam to hold both credentials.

    What are the prerequisites for each level?

    The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level, which is why the combined programme covers Foundation first.

    Where can I sit the EXIN BCS BA exams?

    Both exams can be taken online through EXIN's online proctored exam system or at an EXIN accredited testing location. They are usually arranged through the accredited training provider as part of the combined training and dual-exam programme.

    Course Content

    What topics does the Business Analysis training cover?

    Foundation covers 14 topic areas, from what business analysis is, strategy analysis and investigation techniques to requirements engineering, process and requirements modelling and the business case. Practitioner covers seven applied areas, from strategic context and current-situation analysis to identifying solutions and building the business case.

    What business analysis techniques will I learn?

    You will learn investigation techniques such as interviews, workshops and document analysis, requirements elicitation and MoSCoW prioritisation, BPMN and use case modelling, stakeholder analysis with power and interest grids and RACI, PESTLE and SWOT, and business-case appraisal using NPV, ROI and payback.

    Is the courseware aligned to the latest EXIN BCS specifications?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current EXIN BCS Foundation and Practitioner Examination Specifications and the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge, so you prepare against the standard the exams are actually based on.

    Do I need prior experience to take this course?

    No. The Foundation level is beginner-friendly and needs no prior business analysis experience. The Practitioner level applies those techniques to scenarios, and the trainer-led programme and practice materials support learners moving from concept to applied skill.

    What learning materials and practice are included?

    You receive EXIN BCS aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies, and mock exams and practice questions for both the Foundation and Practitioner formats, plus first-attempt guidance to build exam readiness.
