    Exam

    How many exams are in the combined programme?

    There are two separate exams. You sit the Foundation exam first, then the Practitioner exam. You must pass both to hold both credentials. The combined training prepares you end to end for both.

    What is the format of the Foundation exam?

    The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 40 minutes. It is closed book, and the pass mark is 50%, which is 25 out of 50 correct. There are no formal prerequisites to sit the Foundation exam.

    What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

    The Practitioner exam has 5 scenario-based sections, each worth 16 marks, for 80 marks in total, and lasts 2.5 hours. It is open book, and the pass mark is 50%, which is 40 out of 80 marks. Foundation certification is required before you can sit it.

    What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

    The Change Management Practitioner Guide is permitted during the Practitioner exam. However, the scenario-based sections require analysis and judgement, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient guide navigation and deep method knowledge are both essential.

    What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

    You can re-sit the relevant exam. Our training includes mock exams, practice questions and exam technique for both levels to help you prepare thoroughly for a first-time pass. Speak with our team about re-sit options and support.

    Course Content

    What topics does the training cover?

    The training covers five topic areas: Change and the Individual, Change and the Organisation, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management. Foundation builds knowledge, while Practitioner develops applied, scenario-based skill.

    Can a beginner take this course?

    Yes. Change Management Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, regardless of prior change management experience. The training builds knowledge from first principles before moving into the applied Practitioner level.

    What learning resources are provided?

    You receive courseware aligned to the official syllabi and the CMBoK, industry case studies, practice questions and mock exams for both levels, and open-book technique guidance for the Practitioner exam, supported by experienced trainers.

    Is the courseware aligned to the latest syllabus?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current Change Management Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi, the Change Management Practitioner Guide and the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK).

    How long is the training?

    The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme is delivered as a 40-hour course. The number of days depends on the schedule format, from an intensive full-day option to extended half-day sessions across more days.
