    General

What is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a globally recognized, two-level qualification covering the knowledge, models and practices needed to manage the people side of organizational change. Foundation validates your understanding of change concepts, and Practitioner validates your ability to apply them to real scenarios. It is built on the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) from the Change Management Institute.

Is Change Management certification worth it in Indianapolis?

Yes. Indianapolis employers in life sciences, health, manufacturing and technology run major transformation programs and need people who can drive adoption. Change managers in Indiana average around $98,833 per year, with manager and director roles paying well above that, and certified change talent is in short supply locally.

Who should take this change management course?

It suits project and program managers, HR business partners, OD practitioners, transformation leads, consultants and senior leaders who sponsor change. There are no formal prerequisites for the Foundation level, so it is open to anyone who wants to lead the people side of change.

What change models and frameworks does it cover?

The syllabus covers a broad range of models including ADKAR, Kotter's 8-Step Model, Lewin's Three-Step Model, Bridges' Transition Model, the McKinsey 7-S Framework, Schein's culture model, Goleman's emotional intelligence and Cialdini's principles of influence.

    Is the certification recognized internationally?

Yes. The Change Management qualification is recognized in over 150 countries and is respected across sectors and regions. It gives Indianapolis professionals a credential that travels with them when they change employer, sector or location.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes CMBoK-aligned courseware, case studies, mock exams and practice questions for both levels, exam-technique guidance, and learner support. Request a quote for the current inclusions and formats available in Indianapolis.

How much does the training cost in Indianapolis?

    Exam

How many exams are in the combined program?

There are two separate exams. You sit and pass the Foundation exam first, then the Practitioner exam. You must pass both to hold both credentials, and the combined program prepares you for each in one guided path.

What is the Foundation exam format?

The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions and a 40-minute duration. It is closed book, and the pass mark is 50%, which is 25 out of 50 correct. It is usually taken at the end of the Foundation portion of the training.

What is the Practitioner exam format?

The Practitioner exam has 5 scenario-based sections worth 16 marks each, 80 marks in total, over 2.5 hours. It is open book, using the Change Management Practitioner Guide, and the pass mark is 50%, which is 40 out of 80 marks.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the exam, but the scenario-based sections require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient guide navigation and deep model knowledge are both essential.

Where and how do I take the exams?

Both exams are delivered by online proctoring or at an authorized test center, and are administered by APMG International. They are typically scheduled at the end of the relevant training and can be taken from home, office or a test center.

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can re-sit the exam under the current re-sit policy. Our training includes mock exams, practice questions and exam technique for both levels to help you prepare thoroughly. Contact us to confirm re-sit details before you book.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the training?

The training covers five topic areas: Change and the Individual, Change and the Organization, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management. Foundation builds knowledge, and Practitioner develops applied skill.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. There are no formal prerequisites for the Foundation level, so beginners are welcome. The Practitioner level builds on Foundation, and the combined program guides you from core concepts to applying change models in real scenarios.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive CMBoK-aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions and mock exams for both levels, plus exam-technique guidance for the open-book Practitioner exam. Materials support both self-study and instructor-led sessions.

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current Change Management Practitioner Guide and the current Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi, and grounded in the Change Management Body of Knowledge maintained by the Change Management Institute.

How long is the training program?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner program is delivered as a 40-hour course. The number of days depends on the schedule format, such as full-day intensive or extended part-day sessions, so total hours stay consistent across formats.
